Morning Offering

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month. Amen

Daily Prayer & Reading for February 15, 2023

Jesus, if God the Father is love, we can understand why You embody God’s compassion. When You became a man Your hands were God’s hands touching the sick. Your words were God’s Words lifting up the fallen sinner. Your voice was God’s voice of hope calling out to the lost sheep and the prodigal sons of Your day. Amen.

Mark 8:22-26

When Jesus and his disciples arrived at Bethsaida,
people brought to him a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.
He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village.
Putting spittle on his eyes he laid his hands on the man and asked,
“Do you see anything?”
Looking up the man replied, “I see people looking like trees and walking.”
Then he laid hands on the man’s eyes a second time and he saw clearly;
his sight was restored and he could see everything distinctly.
Then he sent him home and said, “Do not even go into the village.”

15 de Febreo

Jesús, si Dios Padre es amor, podemos entender por qué Tú encarnas la compasión de Dios. Cuando te hiciste hombre, tus manos eran las manos de Dios que tocaban a los enfermos. Tus palabras eran las palabras de Dios que levantaban al pecador caído. Tu voz era la voz de esperanza de Dios llamando a las ovejas perdidas y a los hijos pródigos de tu tiempo. Amén.

Mc 8, 22-26

En aquel tiempo, Jesús y sus discípulos llegaron a Betsaida y enseguida le llevaron a Jesús un ciego y le pedían que lo tocara. Tomándolo de la mano, Jesús lo sacó del pueblo, le puso saliva en los ojos, le impuso las manos y le preguntó: “¿Ves algo?” El ciego, empezando a ver, le dijo: “Veo a la gente, como si fueran árboles que caminan”.

Jesús le volvió a imponer las manos en los ojos y el hombre comenzó a ver perfectamente bien: estaba curado y veía todo con claridad. Jesús lo mandó a su casa, diciéndole: “Vete a tu casa, y si pasas por el pueblo, no se lo digas a nadie”.

The Oblates in Germany oversee the operation of a former seminary building being used to house refugee families. Currently there are about 80 people living at the facility from many different countries. There are also two Oblates who live at the housing complex. “For me, the refugees are messengers of God,’ said Fr. Alfred Tonnis, OMI. “They pull us out of the fences around us, out of our structures, our oasis of well-being and our borders. They broaden our view. They transcend borders and challenge us. They oblige us not to define the words of mercy but to live it.”
