Feast of Saint Matthew, Apostle and evangelist
O Lord Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I dedicate to You the prayers, efforts, joys, and trials of this day. I join these offerings with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass celebrated worldwide, for the purposes of Your Sacred Heart: the salvation of souls, the atonement of sins, and the unity of all Christians. In a special way, I bring before You the intentions of the Holy Father for this month, asking that leaders around the world may serve their people with justice and compassion, focusing on genuine human development and the common good, particularly by supporting the disadvantaged, the poor, and those facing unemployment. Amen.
Daily Prayer:
Lord, as You called St. Matthew from his life as a tax collector, You too call me to turn from my old ways and live in Your marvelous light. Give me the courage to leave behind all that separates me from You and to follow You with a heart full of faith and devotion. Amen
