Fifth Tuesday of Lent
Daily Prayer
Almighty and Eternal God, who is always with us and never leaves us, pour out the gifts of the Holy Spirit as when the Gospel was first proclaimed and show us by Your grace how to become a dwelling that is pleasing to You.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

[Jesus said:]
“The one who sent me is with me.
He has not left me alone,
because I always do what is pleasing to him.”
Because he spoke this way, many came to believe in him.”
Reflection
As we draw nearer to Good Friday, Jesus’ message about who He is becomes clearer. Though the Pharisees did not yet realize it, Jesus is declaring His divinity.
Jesus invites us to keep our eyes fixed on heaven and not on the earth even though He acknowledges that we are not divine (“what is above”) but human (“what is below”).
We can fulfill Jesus’ invitation by doing what is pleasing to God, just as Jesus does, just as Mary does. If we do, God never leaves us alone.
Reflection Questions
Am I confident like Jesus that God “is with me”?
Do I always do what is pleasing to God?
