Daily Prayer
God of power and mercy, look upon us that we may feel the working of Your mercy. Send Your Holy Spirit to live in our hearts and make us templates of Your glory. Grant that we may respond willingly to the movement of the Holy Spirit in our lives, the Spirit of love and compassion, of mercy and forgiveness, that we may serve You with all our heart. Amen

Reflection
Christian discipleship is not just about our actions; it’s also about our hearts. The Psalms can help us pray because they speak honestly to God about what is felt in the heart. The heart of a child is innocent and trusting. It has not yet been hardened by sin, wounded by words or disillusionment, or felt the emptiness of unrequited love. This is the heart that the psalmist asks to have again. If we come away from Lent with only one resolve, let it be to have a clean heart.
Reflection Questions
Do I speak up for God with the same courage and conviction of the prophets such as Jonah?
How can I make my love grow this day as I approach the great Paschal Mystery?
