Morning Offering

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month. Amen

Daily Prayer & Reading for December 26, 2022

Father of peace, accept my faith and sincerity. By sharing in the mystery of Jesus Your Son, draw me closer to You and to all Your people. Amen.

Audio of daily prayer read by Fr. Uribe OMI

Matthew 10: 17-22

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Beware of men, for they will hand you over to courts
and scourge you in their synagogues,
and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake
as a witness before them and the pagans.
When they hand you over,
do not worry about how you are to speak
or what you are to say.
You will be given at that moment what you are to say.
For it will not be you who speak
but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Brother will hand over brother to death,
and the father his child;
children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but whoever endures to the end will be saved.”

This week, the Oblates in the Philippines are praying for you.

Recently the Oblates there sponsored a three day Mindanao Sports for Peace at the Oblates’ Notre Dame of Midsayap College.

The Sports Program has three components: sports clinics in basketball, volleyball and badminton; trauma healing and counseling sessions, and countering violent extremism. Father Romeo Sanil, OMI, said third component is brought about by present realities in Mindanao.

“The youth and children who are victims of armed conflict are experiencing traumas brought about by violence and war, hatred and mistrust, and drug abuse. These negative experiences are utilized by extremist groups present in the area in their recruitment. Mindanao Sports for Peace attempts to respond to these economic, social and psychological problems. It is believed that sports can transform the lives of these innocent victims.”
