God of Mercy, many children can’t feel safe even in their own homes and neighborhoods. Bless those who live in or near areas prone to violence. Give them courage and keep them safe. Give them hope for a better tomorrow. Bless also those who commit acts of violence. Open their hearts to Your goodness so that they might turn away from a life of crime. If they feel stuck in a bad situation, help them to find their way out. Give them strength to be better persons. Amen.
Luke 21: 12-19
Jesus said to the crowd:
“They will seize and persecute you,
they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons,
and they will have you led before kings and governors
because of my name.
It will lead to your giving testimony.
Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand,
for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking
that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.
You will even be handed over by parents,
brothers, relatives, and friends,
and they will put some of you to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but not a hair on your head will be destroyed.
By your perseverance you will secure your lives.”

Dios de la misericordia, muchos niños no se sienten seguros ni siquiera en sus propios hogares y barrios. Bendice a los que viven en zonas propensas a la violencia o cerca de ellas. Dales valor y protégelos. Dales esperanza de un mañana mejor. Bendice también a los que cometen actos violentos. Abre sus corazones a Tu bondad para que se alejen de la vida criminal. Si se sienten atrapados en una situación adversa, Ayúdales a encontrar la salida. Dales fuerza para ser mejores personas. Amén.

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: “Los perseguirán y los apresarán, los llevarán a los tribunales y a la cárcel, y los harán comparecer ante reyes y gobernantes por causa mía. Con esto ustedes darán testimonio de mí.
Grábense bien que no tienen que preparar de antemano su defensa, porque yo les daré palabras sabias, a las que no podrá resistir ni contradecir ningún adversario de ustedes.
Los traicionarán hasta sus padres y hermanos, sus parientes y amigos. Matarán a algunos de ustedes, y todos los odiarán por causa mía. Sin embargo, ni un cabello de su cabeza perecerá. Si se mantienen firmes, conseguirán la vida’’.
