Daily Prayer 7/14

Memorial of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, Virgin

Morning Offering:

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, and the reunion of all Christians. In particular, we offer up the intentions of the Holy Father this month, for a Eucharistic life, that we may place the celebration of the Eucharist at the heart of our lives, transforming our relationships in a very deep way and opening ourselves to the encounter with God and all our brothers and sisters. Amen

Daily Prayer:

Eternal Father, today we remember Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American to be declared a saint. We are filled with sorrow and shame at the suffering and injustice our Native Americans have endured. Forgive us and help us seek effective ways to restore honor and dignity to all the people of our land, especially our native brothers and sisters.

We also pray for the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate who labor at the White Earth Reservation in northern Minnesota, which is the poorest reservation in the state and is plagued with food shortages and homelessness. We ask this through the intercession of St. Tekakwitha. Amen
