Lenten Reflection for 3/13

Wednesday of the Fourth Week of Lent

Daily Prayer

Almighty God and Father, through Your Only Begotten Son the hope of eternal life dawned on the world. He conquered death and unlocked for us the path to eternal life. Give us the light of faith that we may always acknowledge Him as our Redeemer, and so come to the glory of His kingdom. Grant that we may rise up in the light of life. Amen

Scripture Quote

John 5:24
[Jesus said:]
“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word
and believes in the one who sent me
has eternal life and will not come to condemnation,
but has passed from death to life.”

Reflection

For Christians, eternal life begins upon belief in “the one who sent” Jesus. Those who do not believe in God move through life in an eternal process of death. But we who believe move through life in an eternal process of coming alive. It is life in the kingdom of God.
We continue to transform ourselves by periodically going into the desert of our Inner Room. Through this eternal process, we deepen our relationship to God and the knowledge of God’s love. It is there in the desert that we pass from death to life.

Reflection Questions

How can I hear God’s Word today and achieve His will?
Can I help others hear God’s Word today?
