Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes
Morning Offering:
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians. In particular, we offer up the intentions of the Holy Father this month, that those with a terminal illness, and their families, receive the necessary physical and spiritual care and accompaniment. Amen
Daily Prayer:
Our Lady of Lourdes, through your heavenly intercession we ask you to bless us today with your healing ways. Healing has come to many people at the Sacred Grotto in Lourdes. On this special feast day, we come to you to intercede for all who are sick in mind, body and spirit. Holy Mary, Mother of Jesus, pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen
The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate are blessed by our connection to Our Lady of Lourdes. Fr. Ferdinand Gondrand, OMI, helped Bernadette, put into words her first narrative about the apparitions. Cardinal Joseph Guibert, OMI, Archbishop of Paris, was one of the first to believe in the importance of Lourdes and led efforts for the consecration of the basilica there. Today I am in Lourdes and am grateful and honored to represent our Oblate family of priests, brothers and co-missionaries like you on this holy feast day.
