Daily Prayer
Eternal God, who commanded us to listen to Your beloved Son, direct our actions according to Your Will, just as Your Son did.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

He [Jesus] said,
“Go into the city to a certain man and tell him,
‘The teacher says, “My appointed time draws near;
in your house I shall celebrate the Passover with my disciples”.’”
Reflection
As Jews Jesus and His disciples had to celebrate the Passover in Jerusalem. It was one of the three times of the year when all Jews are called to Jerusalem. They waited until first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the last day possible, to enter the holy city because they knew the religious leaders for looking for Jesus to arrest and kill Him. With all of Israel gathered in Jerusalem, accommodations are scarce.
Yet Jesus trusts His Father to provide what He needs. As in the reading on Palm Sunday, also from the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus instructs His disciples where to procure what they need for the Passover.
Reflection Questions
When God speaks to me today, will I be attentive to His voice?
When I pray, am I confident that God will provide whatever I truly need?
