Tuesday of the Second Week of Lent
Daily Prayer
God of everlasting mercy, who has given us every blessing, kindle the faith of the people You have made Your own and increase the grace You have bestowed so that all may know in what font they have been washed, by whose Spirit they have been reborn, by whose blood they have been redeemed.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Reflection
Continuing yesterday’s theme of mercy, the prophet Isaiah tells us that God offers forgiveness and cleansing to us. We don’t always resist the temptation to sin. With God’s help, we can confess our sin and expose our heart. We offer our scarlet sin to God so that He can cleanse it, cleaning it even to the point of making scarlet, white.
Making more of an effort during Lent softens our hearts, makes us humble, makes us open to God’s mercy. God always offers His mercy. He wants us to return to Him to “set things right.” A clean heart create for me, O God

How can I make penance more genuine in my life?
Do I extend to others the same mercy I seek from the Lord?
