Morning Offering
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month. Amen
Daily Prayer & Reading for February 17, 2023
We thank you, Lord, for the blessings You have given us today. Help us to always remember that everything we have and everything we are is because of You. Allow us to clear our minds so that we can see Your work in everything we encounter, from the trees to the smiles on the faces of others. Amen.
Mark 8:34-9:1
Jesus summoned the crowd with his disciples and said to them,
“Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself,
take up his cross, and follow me.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for my sake
and that of the Gospel will save it.
What profit is there for one to gain the whole world
and forfeit his life?
What could one give in exchange for his life?
Whoever is ashamed of me and of my words
in this faithless and sinful generation,
the Son of Man will be ashamed of
when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
He also said to them,
“Amen, I say to you,
there are some standing here who will not taste death
until they see that the Kingdom of God has come in power.”

Te damos gracias, Señor, por las bendiciones que nos has dado hoy. Ayúdanos a recordar siempre que todo lo que tenemos y todo lo que somos es gracias a Ti. Permítenos aclarar nuestras mentes para que podamos ver Tu obra en todo lo que encontramos, desde los árboles hasta las sonrisas en los rostros de los demás. Amén.

En aquel tiempo, Jesús llamó a la multitud y a sus discípulos y les dijo: “El que quiera venir conmigo, que renuncie a sí mismo, que cargue con su cruz y que me siga. Pues el que quiera salvar su vida, la perderá; pero el que pierda su vida por mí y por el Evangelio, la salvará.
¿De qué le sirve a uno ganar el mundo entero, si pierde su vida? ¿Y qué podrá dar uno a cambio para recobrarla? Si alguien se avergüenza de mí y de mis palabras ante esta gente, idólatra y pecadora, también el Hijo del hombre se avergonzará de él, cuando venga con la gloria de su Padre, entre los santos ángeles”.
Y añadió: “Yo les aseguro que algunos de los aquí presentes no morirán sin haber visto primero que el Reino de Dios ha llegado ya con todo su poder”.
